Traveling Merchant
Role Gold vendor / community donation collector
Location Mainland
Services Trades gathered material bundles for Gold via the Personal ticket lottery and Global donation pool.

The Traveling Merchant is the main early source of Gold for players who gather resources. He stands near his cart on the Mainland and takes bundles of gathered materials in exchange for Gold.

Following the latest update, the merchant now visits twice per day at random times, with draws running on a 12-hour cycle. His exact schedule is secret and changes daily. He operates a dual system: a Personal Gold ticket lottery tied to your $KINS holdings, and a competitive Global Travelling Merchant donation pool that runs in a donation (collect) phase followed by a claim phase.

Important: You must complete your Daily Quests before you can submit to the merchant or claim any Gold — Personal or Global. Do your dailies once and you're set for both visits that day.
Burn tax: A 5% resource tax is permanently burned on every submission, win or lose. This is one of the game's confirmed $KINS-economy burn mechanics.

Exchange Bundle

When you buy Gold from the merchant — Personal lottery entry or Global claim — you turn in the standard exchange bundle. One bundle equals the following:

Material Amount Notes
Wood 2,600 Gathered through Woodcutting in the Wilderness
Stone 1,400 Gathered through Mining in the Wilderness
Coal 800 Mined from coal-bearing rock nodes
Cooked Fish Meat 40 Made by cooking raw Fish

When purchasing Gold, one bundle = 1 Gold. When entering the Personal lottery, one bundle grants tickets based on your $KINS tier (see below). Metal is not part of this exchange bundle — it is only required during the Global donation phase (see below).

1. Personal Gold (ticket lottery)

Personal Gold is now a materials-based lottery. Submitting a bundle no longer pays out a guaranteed amount of Gold — instead it grants raffle tickets, and each winning ticket pays 1 Gold.

Requirements

  • Complete your Daily Quests before entering.
  • $KINS holdings must be held in your wallet for 24 hours before they count toward your ticket tier.

Tickets per bundle

The number of tickets you receive per submitted bundle scales with your $KINS tier:

$KINS held Tickets per bundle
Less than 1,000 0 (cannot enter)
1,000 to 4,999 2 tickets
5,000 to 9,999 6 tickets
10,000+ 10 tickets (hard cap)

Note: Larger $KINS holders will have more exclusive benefits and features added in future updates.

Draw and payout

  • Up to 3,000 tickets win per day, drawn on a 12-hour cycle.
  • Each winning ticket = 1 Gold.
  • A losing ticket returns 95% of its materials — the remaining 5% is burned as the resource tax.
  • The 5% burn applies to all submissions, winning or losing.

2. Global Travelling Merchant

The Global merchant is a community effort with a shared pool of 1,500 Gold per visit (up to 3,000 Gold total across both daily visits). Each player can claim a maximum of 5 Gold per visit. It runs in two phases.

Donation phase

During the donation (collect) phase, the whole community donates materials toward a shared set of goals. Donating builds hidden back-end contribution points that determine your claim limit once the pool opens. This is the only merchant activity that uses Metal.

Current per-cycle community goals (fixed until changed by the team):

Material Donation goal
Wood 1,250,000
Stone 750,000
Coal 500,000
Metal 200,000
Cooked Fish Meat 100,000

Claim phase

Once every goal hits 100%, the merchant flips to the claim phase and the Gold pool opens.

  1. Complete Daily Quests first — same requirement as Personal Gold.
  2. Unlock claim limits — your donation-phase contribution determines how much you can claim, up to the 5 Gold per visit cap.
  3. Purchase the Gold — unlocking a claim limit does not grant instant Gold. You still buy your allocated Gold with the standard Exchange Bundle above (one bundle per Gold, no Metal at this stage).
