Harun the Forgewright
Role Blacksmith / forger
Location The Dunes (West)
Services Smelts ingots, forges tools, repairs damaged gear

Harun the Forgewright is a blacksmith who operates a forge in The Dunes (West). He smelts copper, iron, and silver ingots and forges the full range of tools using ingots and wood — an alternative to Grimjaw in Frostmere, offering the exact same smithing services. Harun does not forge armor — that is the work of Kaziir the Armoursmith in Dunes East.

Harun also repairs damaged tools and armor, restoring them to "like new" condition so they can be sold or traded on the marketplace.

How to forge

Visit Harun's forge in The Dunes (West) with the required ingots and wood:

Item type Ingredients required Crafting time Smithing requirement
Tools (Copper/Iron/Silver) Ingots + Wood ~1 second per unit 0–27 (varies by tier and tool)

Hand over materials, wait for forging, and receive your crafted item. Armor (Iron/Silver) is forged by Kaziir the Armoursmith in Dunes East, not at Harun's forge — though Harun will repair it.

How to repair

Visit Harun with damaged tools or armor:

Repair scenario Cost Notes
Partial durability loss ~60% of the forge bill, scaled to missing durability Cost scales to damage taken
100% durability loss (broken) 60% of the full forge bill Repair to "like new" before listing on the Marketplace (player trades accept worn gear) — never the full craft cost

Repair charges 60% of every forge material (wood, Molten Rock, and Brute Horn included), scaled to how much durability was lost. Minimum repair cost is 1 of each material.

Dialogue

When you approach Harun:

"Mind the mouths, they spit. The northerner in the snow keeps his fire alive with bellows and complaint; out here the sun does half my work before I wake. Same craft, same anvil song — ore into ingots, ingots into a tool that holds an edge, and a worn blade made whole again. Copper, iron, silver: bring me the metal and the wood and I will not ask where you dug it."

Forging Services

Smelting

Ingots are smelted one at a time (×1, ×5 or ×10 per batch). No Smithing level is needed.

Ingot Cost per ingot
Copper Ingot 10 Stone + 5 Coal
Iron Ingot 6 Iron Ore + 6 Coal
Silver Ingot 4 Silver Ore + 8 Coal

Harun forges all three tool tiers:

Tools

Tool Ingots Wood Smithing req Tier bonus
Copper Axe 20 400 0 +5%
Copper Sword 25 600 3 Hits for 23
Copper Pickaxe 28 850 7 +5%
Iron Axe 40 1,000 10 +10%
Iron Sword 55 1,300 13 Hits for 26
Iron Pickaxe 60 1,600 17 +10%
Silver Axe 80 2,000 20 +15%
Silver Sword 90 2,500 23 Hits for 30
Silver Pickaxe 100 3,000 27 +15%

Armor

Armor is not forged by Harun. Iron and silver armor (helm, body, legs, feet) is crafted by Kaziir the Armoursmith in Dunes East from ingots, Molten Rock, and Brute Horn, with Smithing requirements from 14 to 30. Armor grants damage reduction, not shield points: the iron pieces reduce damage by 2/4/3/1% (helm/body/legs/feet — 10% for the full set) and the silver pieces by 3/6/4.5/1.5% (15% for the full set). Crafting is gated on Smithing, but wearing armor is gated on Combat: level 15 for iron and 25 for silver.

Harun's smith window does cover armor repairs — see below.

Repair System

Damaged tools and armor cannot be sold or traded on the marketplace. Harun restores them:

  • Repair brings durability to 100%
  • Item then lists as "new" on marketplace
  • Repair cost is 60% of the original forge materials, scaled by damage — never the full craft cost
  • Minimum cost: 1 of each material
  • Covers both tools and Kaziir's armor

Example repair

  • Iron Sword (55 ingots + 1,300 wood to craft), fully broken = 33 ingots + 780 wood to repair (60% of the forge bill)
  • Partially damaged items cost proportionally less, down to a minimum of 1 per material

Dunes West Advantage

Harun's forge is in the heart of The Dunes. Benefits:

  • Armor repairs: Harun repairs Kaziir's armor too — the bill includes Molten Rock (Emberstone lava fishing) and Brute Horn (Magma Brutes in Emberstone)
  • Cacti and Nadeen: Health Potion+ crafting at Nadeen's stall, same location
  • King Scorpia: the world boss lives in The Dunes South
  • Alternative to Frostmere: No need to travel to Frostmere if you're deep in the Dunes

Location

Harun's forge is located in The Dunes (West). Entry points:

  • South from The Pond → Dunes West (Harun's location)
  • South from The Shores → Dunes East (different location)

No level requirement to enter or visit Harun. The Dunes are a paid realm: free-to-play accounts can't enter any Dunes map.

Comparison: Harun vs Grimjaw

Both blacksmiths offer identical forging services:

Aspect Harun (Dunes West) Grimjaw (Frostmere)
Forging All tools (no armor) All tools (no armor)
Repairs Yes (damaged → like new) Yes (damaged → like new)
Crafting time ~1 second per unit ~1 second per unit
Cost Identical to Grimjaw Identical to Harun
Location The Dunes (West) Frostmere
Adjacent services Nadeen (potions), Zahir (cosmetics) None

Neither blacksmith forges armor — for iron and silver plate, see Kaziir the Armoursmith. Choose based on proximity: Harun if farming Dunes, Grimjaw if farming Frostmere/Wilderness.
