Maelor the Scrollbinder is a quest NPC on the Mainland who redeems completed Scrolls. Each scroll is uniquely generated with its own story and tasks — complete every objective and return it to Maelor for your Gold reward.

Two pale-blue eyes flare beneath the hood. "I am Maelor, the Scrollbinder. Finish a scroll — every task on it — bring it to me, and you will be rewarded."

How scrolls work

1. **Get a scroll** — Mobs drop scrolls as rare loot. Beginner Scrolls drop from Zombies, Dragons, and Wolves in the Wilderness (1 in 1,000). Medium Scrolls drop from Magma Brutes in Emberstone (1 in 1,500), Giant Scorpions (1 in 1,000), and the Venomweaver (1 in 600 per participant). Hard Scrolls come from King Scorpia's contribution table (1 in 500 for each of his top three damage dealers — the same table pays a Medium Scroll 1 in 300), plus a 1 in 1,000 bonus roll on Venomweaver kills. At most one scroll drops per kill, and a player can't receive two scroll drops within 60 seconds.
2. **Scrolls are unique and soulbound** — Each scroll is uniquely generated with its own story, title, and task set. It is bound to you and cannot be traded, sold, banked, or minted.
3. **Open and read your scroll** — Open it to read its tale and see your exact tasks: material deliveries to specific NPCs (with exact amounts), plus bonus objectives (on a Hard Scroll, three fixed hunts). Tasks must be completed in order.
4. **Track your progress** — Use the tracking system to follow your scroll completion live as you play. One scroll is tracked at a time.
5. **Complete every task** — Finish all material deliveries and bonus objectives. You can hold up to 5 active scrolls at once — at the cap, new scroll drops are silently skipped.
6. **Return for reward** — Bring the completed scroll back to Maelor to claim your Gold.

Warning: Scrolls are soulbound and precious. Dying in any open-PvP area — the Wilderness, Emberstone, The Dunes or Glade Cave — burns every scroll you're carrying to ash. Bank before risky trips.

Free play: Free-to-play accounts do not receive scroll drops at all.

Redemptions can also pay rare cosmetics on top of the Gold, rolled independently: Medium Scroll turn-ins can pay a Flying Carpet Mount (1 in 750), a Top Hat, and more — roughly 1 in 108 redemptions pays at least one cosmetic. Hard Scroll turn-ins draw from 14 cosmetic rewards (Flaming Helmet, canes, the Mummy set, Robin Hood/Pirate/Straw Hats, Demon Mask, Laurel Wreath, Clown Mask) — roughly 1 in 16 redemptions pays at least one.

"How do I get a scroll?"

"Slay the beasts of this world — any of them, across every wild and every realm — and sooner or later a scroll finds you. Each carries tasks inked just for its bearer. Complete them ALL, then bring it here."

Scrolls drop from mobs as rare loot. Beginner Scrolls come from low-level Wilderness mobs; Medium Scrolls from Magma Brutes, Giant Scorpions, and the Venomweaver; Hard Scrolls from King Scorpia's contribution table and, rarely, the Venomweaver.

"What kind of reward?"

"That depends on the scroll." The eyes glint under the hood. "Finish one, hand it over, and find out. Maelor never shortchanges a bearer."

Maelor deliberately never names the amounts. Beginner Scrolls pay 2–5 Gold, Medium Scrolls 6–15 Gold, and Hard Scrolls 30–50 Gold, with a separate chance of rare cosmetics. Rewards scale with difficulty.
