Notes World boss in The Dunes South. Spawns in region-wide waves roughly every 20–40 minutes. Scroll rates: Hard 1/500, Medium 1/300.

King Scorpia is a world boss located in The Dunes (South realm). Players must reach The Dunes South to participate. Loot is distributed to the top 3 damage dealers who are still alive when he falls.

The fight is squad-based but uses independent rolls — no competing with your own team.

Requirement: No level requirement from either entrance — but The Dunes is a paid area: free-play accounts (holding under 1,000 $KINS) can't enter. The previous Total Level 20 gate via The Shores was dropped in a 2026 update.
Update — Scroll rates: King Scorpia's scroll rates are Hard Scroll 1 in 500 and Medium Scroll 1 in 300. Once killed, he stays down until his region's next spawn wave (waves fire every 20–40 minutes on the region's clock, so the wait after a kill can be anywhere up to ~40 minutes).
Update: Because he can now be fought many times a day, his HP was raised (2,500 → 4,000) and his drop rates were retuned to compensate for the much higher kill frequency. See Loot pool below.
Update: King Scorpia has relocated from The Dunes West to the new The Dunes South realm. The Dunes West camp gates that previously let players fight him from the edge of a safe pen have been removed entirely. Dunes West keeps its pens and its 6 Giant Scorpions, but no longer has a boss.

Encounter

Detail Value
Encounter type World boss
Location The Dunes South
Requirement No level requirement from either entrance — but The Dunes is a paid area (free-play accounts can't enter)
HP 4,000
Aggro range 12 tiles (flat radius — no edge of the arena to stand on)
Spawn Appears in region-wide waves roughly every 20–40 minutes: when a wave fires, he spawns on every server in the region at once (US, EU, and Asia run independent clocks). Once killed on a server, he stays down until the region's next wave.
Participation Squad-based, individualized loot
Loot eligibility Top 3 damage dealers who are alive at kill time
Leaderboard Does not count on the public Boss Kills leaderboard or your guild's lifetime boss tally (the Venomweaver is the only boss there). The top 3 damage dealers who dealt at least 40 damage earn Guild Season boss points.
Nearby mobs Shares the realm with 8 regular Scorpions — one fewer than Dunes East's 9, leaving room to fight the boss without standing in other players' aggro

Keeping your claim

Your loot rank is not locked in the moment you hit him:

  • Stop damaging him for around 45 seconds and your banked contribution is forfeited — a warning appears at around 30 seconds idle.
  • Dying, disconnecting, or leaving the realm also forfeits your contribution.
  • Damage he was never able to answer (attacking from behind fences or out of his reach) earns no rank, kill credit, or XP.

Boss Mechanics

Mechanic Details
Bite damage 23–36 HP per hit (rolled)
Riposte damage 10 HP counter-attack after you hit him
Movement speed 2x faster than ordinary Scorpions
Terrain interaction Walks straight through scenery (does not path around obstacles)
Hit-stun resistance 2x more resistant than ordinary Scorpions — shrugs off stun twice as fast
The Throw (1 in 5 attacks) Picks you up, hurls you 6 tiles away, bounces off walls and terrain. No damage, just repositioning. Wearing the complete four-piece Scorpia cosmetic set makes you immune to the throw.
World boss exemption Not subject to aggro fatigue (the 90-second chase → 30-second breather rule that applies to regular mobs). King Scorpia chases without a break.

Combat XP

Defeating King Scorpia grants 1,300 Combat XP to every player who dealt damage and is still alive in The Dunes South when the boss dies. This is a flat grant per participant.

Target Combat XP Notes
King Scorpia (boss kill) 1,300 Granted to each damage-dealing participant alive at kill time.

For comparison, other retuned combat XP grants include 110 XP for a Giant Scorpion, 100 XP for a Magma Brute, and 750 XP for Venomweaver.

Loot pool

Every King Scorpia kill rolls each of the following. Top 3 damage dealers who are alive at death get to roll.

Drop Chance Amount Notes
Gold 1 in 100 18–30 Direct payout to top 3 damage dealers. Raised from 1 in 300.
Scroll (Hard or Medium) See note 1 Only one scroll drops per kill — Hard Scroll is checked first, Medium only pays if Hard doesn't hit. See note below.
King Scorpia Mount 1 in 1,500 1 Exclusive mount. Duplicates can be collected. Gildable. Free-play accounts are excluded from the mount drop.
Scorpia Outfit piece (Helm, Cuirass, Greaves or Sabatons) 1 in 2,000 per piece 1 Each of the four pieces rolls independently per winner. Wearing the complete set makes you immune to King Scorpia's throw.
Royal Sceptre 1 in 10,000 1 His rarest drop — a tradeable cosmetic.
Cacti 1 in 25 10–25 Consolation drop — unchanged.
Health Potion+ 1 in 50 5–15 Consolation drop — unchanged.
King Scorpia scroll mechanic: King Scorpia's Hard Scroll and Medium Scroll are not both paid on one kill — at most one scroll drops per kill. Hard Scroll is checked first at 1 in 500; the Medium Scroll roll is compensated so the rate at which you actually receive Medium Scrolls lands at exactly its advertised 1 in 300. This is different from Venomweaver, where the two rolls are made independently (though there, too, at most one scroll pays per kill).

King Scorpia Mount

The rare King Scorpia Mount drops only from King Scorpia himself (not from ordinary Giant Scorpions).

Stat Value
Base speed 25%
Max speed (trained) 55%
Special mechanic Scorpion camouflage
Duplicates Allowed — owning one no longer blocks further drops
Gilding Supported — Sorrel can gild it into a Gold King Scorpia Mount (20%/40%/60% success for 1/2/3 mounts input, all inputs burned regardless of outcome)

Scorpion Camouflage

While riding King Scorpia Mount:

  • All ordinary Giant Scorpions ignore you completely
  • Attack a Scorpion and camouflage breaks — they hunt you for 30 seconds
  • Every further attack refreshes the 30-second timer
  • Stop attacking and wait it out, you become invisible again
  • King Scorpia himself is not fooled — he hunts riders as normal, and hitting him does not break your cover with the pack
  • Useful for farming or repositioning in The Dunes
