Brute Horn is a rare material dropped randomly by Magma Brute mobs in Emberstone. It drops at roughly 1 in 5 kills — not guaranteed every kill. Brute Horn is used to buy Demon Chests at the Chest Vending Machine, to brew Health Potion+, and to craft iron and silver armor at Kaziir the Armoursmith. It can also be listed and traded as a material on the Marketplace alongside resources like Wood, Stone, and Molten Rock.

Combat XP from Magma Brutes

Killing Magma Brutes also trains Combat: every kill pays 100 Combat XP, whatever sword you use (105 with the 5% guild bonus). That is among the best regular-mob XP in the game, just behind the Dunes' Giant Scorpions (110).

Tips

• Bring Health, Shield, and Strength Potions from The Alchemist before fighting Magma Brutes — Emberstone is a PvP zone.
• Farming Magma Brutes for Brute Horn also earns strong Combat XP, plus a 1 in 350 chance per kill at 1–5 Gold and a 1 in 500 chance at the Magma Brute Pet.
• You need 50 Brute Horn per Demon Chest, so expect roughly 250 Magma Brute kills' worth of drops per chest at the 1-in-5 rate.
