How to get	Chest Vending Machine, Mainland; Season 2 reward tracks (until 31 October 2026)

The Haunted Chest is the Halloween 2026 loot chest — an orange chest with a jack-o'-lantern on it, sold at the Chest Vending Machine on the Mainland. Half of all opens give a Halloween cosmetic; the other half give Candy Corn. Its prizes changed at 00:00 UTC on Monday 26 October 2026, when five new cosmetics replaced the first six for good.

It costs 15 Gold to buy and nothing to open. It is listed first in the machine and is on sale until Monday 2 November 2026 at 00:00 UTC, when the sale ends and does not come back. Haunted Chests already bought still open after that.

Until 23:25 UTC on 31 October 2026, 5 Haunted Chests were also a reward on the Season 2 pass (200,000 XP) and the Kintara Club reward track (25,000 XP); since then, those stops pay 5 Galactic Chests instead.

Loot pool

Each open rolls a rarity tier first, then one item from that tier. The Blue tier holds the common prize; the Halloween cosmetics sit in the higher tiers. What a chest gives depends on when it is opened, not when it was bought: a Haunted Chest bought in the first week rolls the prizes below too.

Since 26 October 2026

Tier	Chance per open	Prize
Blue	50%	25–50 Candy Corn, to trade with The Candy Witch
Purple	30%	Skull Mask
Pink	13%	Werewolf Ears
Red	5%	Witch's Broom
Gold	2%	One of two prizes by weighted sub-roll: Headless Horseman (25%), Ghostly Aura (75%) — that is 0.5% (1 in 200) and 1.5% of all opens

Candy Corn ends at 00:00 UTC on 2 November 2026. A Haunted Chest opened after that pays a random tool (the Starter or Iron version of the Sword, Pickaxe or Axe) or a 5–200 stack of Wood, Stone, Coal or Iron Ore in its Blue tier instead; the cosmetics stay the same.

20 to 25 October 2026

In its first week the chest rolled six other cosmetics. They left the chest for good at 00:00 UTC on 26 October 2026:

Tier	Chance per open	Prize
Blue	50%	A random tool (the Starter or Iron version of the Sword, Pickaxe or Axe) or a 5–200 stack of Wood, Stone, Coal or Iron Ore
Purple	30%	Witch Hat
Pink	13%	Scarecrow Hat
Red	5%	Bat Wings
Gold	2%	One of three prizes by weighted sub-roll: Black Party Hat (10%), Pumpkin Head (30%), Vampire Cloak (60%) — that is 0.2% (1 in 500), 0.6% and 1.2% of all opens

Make room first: A chest only opens when you have room for every prize it could give — space in your cosmetics bag for the cosmetics, and room in your inventory or bank for the Candy Corn, tools and materials. If something wouldn't fit, the chest stays unopened and you're told which bag to clear.

Unique drops

Since 26 October 2026 the Haunted Chest is the only source of these five Halloween cosmetics:

• Skull Mask — A cracked bone-white skull strapped over your face, a green light burning deep in each eye socket.
• Werewolf Ears — Shaggy grey-brown wolf ears on a fur headband, one of them torn and scarred from an old fight.
• Witch's Broom — A crooked broom slung across your back, its straw bound in twine and a little ghost-lantern swinging from the bristles.
• Headless Horseman — A burnt, cracked jack-o'-lantern with fire pouring out of the top and a tattered collar beneath, worn on the head.
• Ghostly Aura — Three little ghosts circle you through a cold green glow, trailing wisps, with a mist that never quite settles at your feet.

From 20 to 25 October 2026 it was the only source of these six, which can no longer be won from it:

• Witch Hat — A wide brim and a point bent from long wear.
• Scarecrow Hat — Burlap and straw, stitched into a grin.
• Bat Wings — Ragged membrane stretched over thin bone, worn on the back.
• Vampire Cloak — Black outside, red within, with a high collar; worn on the back.
• Pumpkin Head — A pumpkin carved, hollowed and lit from somewhere inside.
• Black Party Hat — A party hat in black, and the chest's rarest prize.

All eleven are tradeable, and none is sold in any shop.

Tips

• The chest costs 15 Gold and opening it is free, so the price is the whole cost of each roll.
• Keep room in your cosmetics bag before opening — half of all opens are a cosmetic.
• The sale ends at 00:00 UTC on 2 November 2026; a Haunted Chest bought before then can still be opened afterwards.
• The Zombie Mask doesn't come from the chest — it drops from zombies.
