Swordfish is the fifth of Kintara's eight fish, caught only in The Deep — the raft-only water on the far eastern edge of the ocean at The Shores, just north of the buoy line. Cooking it converts it to Cooked Swordfish, which heals 25 HP — or, on a failed cook, to Burnt Swordfish, which is junk. Cooked Swordfish does nothing in The Dunes: the heat blocks every cooked fish there, and cacti is the only food that heals in the sand.
Catching
The Deep runs 2 live fishing spots of its own. Casts there also roll the water's bonus drops — the Orca Mount, the Lanternfish, the Waterlogged Crate, the Sunken Treasure Map and Silver Ore dredges — see The Deep for the full table. The Shores, and so The Deep, is closed to free accounts (those holding under 1,000 $KINS).

Cooking Swordfish requires Cooking level 28. Cooking any fish is a roll against your Cooking level — the burn chance starts at 30% (level 5 and below) and slides down toward, but never reaches, 0% (5% at level 40). The Roast Pit shows your exact current burn chance.
Uses
- Cooked Swordfish is worth 10 points at The Angler — only the sea fish of The Sunken Isles are worth more (11, 12 and 13): 500 points buys one raffle ticket for the Angler Outfit and her other prizes, so 50 Cooked Swordfish make a ticket. The Angler takes the cheapest fish you offer first, so only those sea fish go after your Swordfish.
- Swordfish can be traded up for Reef Jig (10 Swordfish, raw or cooked, for 5 Reef Jig) at the Old Fisher or Dockhand Maren — the bait for Parrotfish at The Sunken Isles.
