Parrotfish is the sixth of Kintara's eight fish, caught on the Coral Reef at The Sunken Isles — the turquoise shallows in the west of the sea. Cooking it converts it to Cooked Parrotfish, which heals 30 HP — or, on a failed cook, to Burnt Parrotfish, which is junk. Cooked Parrotfish does nothing in The Dunes: the heat blocks every cooked fish there, and cacti is the only food that heals in the sand.

The reef has 3 live fishing spots and no Sharks: it is the safe ground at sea. Casts on the reef also roll for the Coral Crown (1 in 15,000 per cast) — see The Sunken Isles. The Sunken Isles is closed to free accounts (those holding under 1,000 $KINS).

Cooking Parrotfish requires Cooking level 32. Cooking any fish is a roll against your Cooking level — the burn chance starts at 30% (level 5 and below) and slides down toward, but never reaches, 0% (5% at level 40). The Roast Pit shows your exact current burn chance.
Uses
- Parrotfish can be traded up for Diving Plug (10 Parrotfish, raw or cooked, for 5 Diving Plugs) at the Old Fisher or Dockhand Maren.
- Cooked Parrotfish counts toward the Angler Outfit raffle at The Angler — it is worth 11 points, against 1 for Herring, 5 for Trout, 8 for Bass, 9 for Tuna, 10 for Swordfish, 12 for Grouper and 13 for Fangtooth, and 500 points buys one raffle ticket. The outfit itself needs Fishing 30 to wear; the exchange has no level requirement.
