How to get

Silver Ore is a high-tier gathered resource in Kintara. It is obtained by mining rocks in The Dunes with a forged pickaxe (requires Mining 20) — every Dunes rock, in all three desert realms, yields silver ore, while Frostmere rocks are all Iron Ore. Silver Ore is smelted into Silver Ingots at any furnace, then forged into the best tools and armor in the game. It also comes up while fishing in The Deep (1–3 ore on about 1 in 35 casts) and in Sunken Treasure Map caches (4–10 ore).

Silver Ore is the pinnacle of the crafting system — the fastest-hitting tools and most protective armor all begin here.

The free Starter Pickaxe does nothing in the Dunes — you need a forged Copper, Iron or Silver Pickaxe. Every forged tier yields 1 ore per swing, and the 90 XP is paid when the rock is mined out (a single rock takes 6 swings; bigger clusters up to 10). Higher tiers only swing faster, never more yield or XP. Silver Ore rocks are found in The Dunes only (all three realms).

Smelting

Silver Ore is smelted into Silver Ingots at any furnace (Frostmere or Dunes West). No Smithing level required. Smelts are priced per ingot, with a ×1/×5/×10 batch selector and a pace of about 1 second per ingot.

Ore Tiers

Silver Ore is the high-tier in Kintara's ore system. The ore a rock gives depends on the region:

The speed bonus applies to the tools forged from each tier (swing speed), not to gathering the ore itself. Silver is the best gear available.

Progression Gate

To gather Silver Ore, you must reach Mining level 20:

Silver Ore represents the true end-game grind. A full set of Silver tools and armor is the peak of power.

Mining in the Dunes

Silver Ore is only found in The Dunes, so gathering it means managing the desert:

• Heat consideration — the Dunes require heat management (Desert Robe, Cacti or Health Potion+)
• PvP risk — the Dunes are full PvP territory
• Forged tools only — starter tools don't work on any Dunes node
• Access — the Dunes are closed to free accounts (those holding under 1,000 $KINS)
