A Medium Scroll is a soulbound quest item that drops from four different sources across Kintara. Each one is uniquely generated with its own story, title, and set of tougher tasks. Complete all five material deliveries plus your bonus objectives, then redeem it to Maelor the Scrollbinder for Gold and a chance at exclusive cosmetics.

Update: Medium Scroll used to drop only from Magma Brutes at 1 in 750. It now drops from four sources, and Magma Brute's own rate was halved to 1 in 1,500. Redemption rewards also changed — Medium Scrolls used to pay 15–28 Gold and nothing else; they now pay 6–15 Gold plus four independent cosmetic rolls.

Correction — King Scorpia: King Scorpia's Medium Scroll is not an independent roll separate from his Hard Scroll — only one scroll drops per King Scorpia kill. Hard Scroll is checked first; Medium only drops if Hard doesn't hit, at a compensated rate calculated so the true overall odds land at the stated figure. Every other source on this page (Venomweaver, Giant Scorpion, Magma Brute) rolls Medium Scroll independently of anything else that mob drops.

Update — King Scorpia rate cut: King Scorpia now rises on every server in your region every 20-40 minutes instead of rarely on one server, so his scroll rates were cut hard to compensate. Medium Scroll (compensated): 1 in 75 → 1 in 400. His Hard Scroll also dropped from 1 in 100 to 1 in 750.

Update: Venomweaver's Medium Scroll rate was increased from 1 in 500 to 1 in 325 — a 6,000 HP boss was paying out scrolls at the same rate as a regular Giant Scorpion, which didn't match the effort involved.

Tasks

Each Medium Scroll contains:

• 5 material-delivery tasks — Bigger contracts with hefty hauls. Deliveries commonly involve large amounts of Wood, Stone, and Coal, plus zone-exclusive materials like Brute Horn and Molten Rock. Every scroll specifies which NPC and exact amounts.
• 2–3 bonus tasks — Randomly generated objectives from any in-game activity: cooking, fishing, mob hunts, gathering, or other adventures. Each scroll is unique.

Reward

Complete every task and bring the scroll to Maelor the Scrollbinder on the Mainland to redeem it for:

Each of the four cosmetic rolls is independent — a single Medium Scroll can yield multiple cosmetics or none, in addition to its guaranteed Gold.

Update: Medium Scrolls previously paid Gold only. They now also roll four cosmetic rewards on redemption, including the Flying Carpet — the first-ever mount to come out of a scroll.

Tips

• Medium Scrolls are tougher than Beginner — expect to haul heavy materials and tackle 2–3 random bonus tasks.
• Venomweaver now offers the best drop odds (1/325) if you can meet its level 20 Combat requirement — worth prioritizing over Magma Brute farming.
• Giant Scorpion is a solid no-queue, no-level-gate option that also passively drops Desert Robes pieces.
• King Scorpia's 1/400 rate looks tempting, but remember it's not a guaranteed Medium roll — his Hard Scroll is checked first, so a kill that hits Hard won't also give you a Medium. King Scorpia is now much more frequent (every server, every 20-40 min per region), but the odds were cut hard specifically to keep pace with that — don't treat him as a primary Medium Scroll farm.
• The zone-exclusive deliveries (Brute Horn, Molten Rock) mean you'll need to farm Magma Brutes for materials regardless of which mob dropped your scroll.
• Bank your scroll before entering risky zones. Dying in the Wilderness (or other death-penalty zones) burns all scrolls you're carrying.
