Bow is a ranged weapon used for Combat. It is sold by Sahriel the Bowbinder in The Dunes East for 100 Gold and shoots players and monsters up to 6 tiles away. An arrow hits 2 times in 3 for 40 damage, and every shot uses one Arrow, hit or miss. The Bow has no durability and no tier: it never wears out and never needs repairing.
Use
- Equip the Bow in a hotbar slot (keys 1–6) and select it, the same way as a Sword.
- Click a player or a monster up to 6 tiles away to shoot. A diagonal step counts as one tile, so a target six tiles away on a diagonal is still in range.
- Click a target that's further away and you walk toward it, shooting as soon as it's within 6 tiles. If it moves, you keep following it; click anywhere else or walk away to stop. If there's no way to reach it, you see "Can't reach that target." — the same way the Sword walks up to something out of reach.
- Each shot uses one Arrow, hit or miss. Only arrows in your backpack or hotbar can be shot; arrows in the bank don't count. With none, you see "You need arrows to use your bow."
- A shot the game refuses — out of range, at a guildmate, from a safe camp, or too soon after your last attack — uses no arrow.
- The Bow shoots as fast as a sword swings: one swing or shot every 1.5 seconds, whichever weapon you use, so switching between the Bow and a sword won't get you an extra attack.
- Everyone nearby sees your arrows fly, hit or miss, but only you and the player you shot see the numbers.
Acquisition
- Sold by Sahriel the Bowbinder in The Dunes East for 100 Gold. He won't sell you a second Bow while you are still carrying one.
- Bows can be traded between players and listed on the Marketplace.
Damage
An arrow that hits does 40 damage. Against players, armor takes some off, just as it does with swords, and the number shown is what the target actually lost. A Strength Potion doesn't add to an arrow's damage, and the Bow can't carry a Relic.
There is no XP per shot and no separate archery skill. A kill with the Bow pays the same Combat XP, drops and kill credit as a sword kill.
| Weapon | Damage per hit | Reach |
|---|---|---|
| Starter Sword | 5 | Melee |
| Copper Sword | 23 | Melee |
| Iron Sword | 26 | Melee |
| Silver Sword | 30 | Melee |
| Bow | 40 (2 shots in 3 hit) | Up to 6 tiles |
Where you can shoot
The Bow fires in the open-PvP realms: the Wilderness, Deep Wilderness (Wilderness Extension), Wilderness East (Expanded Wilderness), the Emberstone and all three Dunes realms (The Dunes East, The Dunes West and The Dunes South). It also fires at monsters, but never at players, in Frostmere and Eldergrove.
- Players: you can't shoot guildmates or players standing in a safe camp, and you can't shoot from a safe camp.
- Emberstone camp: the ground just outside the camp fence is a no-shooting zone too, whatever you aim at. Shooting from there tells you "Too close to the camp to shoot — move further out."
- Monsters: you can shoot the monsters that roam those realms — Wild Zombies and Wild Dragons in the Wilderness realms, Magma Brutes in the Emberstone, and Giant Scorpions and King Scorpia in the Dunes. The Wild Wolves of Wilderness East can be shot too.
- Frostmere: Frost Wolves and the Frost Troll. The troll never leaves its glade, so it can only be shot from inside the glade or right next to it; further out you see "It can't reach you there. Get closer to shoot it." You can't shoot from Frostmere's safe areas.
- Eldergrove: the chickens. You can't shoot monsters from a safe camp or a fenced pen either ("You can't shoot from a safe area.").
- An arrow that hits a monster lands like a sword hit and staggers it.
- King Scorpia: arrows hurt him, but only arrows shot from within sword reach of him count toward his drops and XP. Arrows from further out wear him down without counting, and you're told to get in close.
- Venomweaver: you can shoot her in Glade Cave once you're admitted to the fight. Since 31 October 2026, unlike King Scorpia, every arrow that lands counts as one swing toward her 2-hit reward floor (loot, kill credit and Combat XP) from any range — "Arrows from range count toward her loot: 2 hits earn it, the same as 2 sword swings up close." Her mini-spiders go first for anyone who has shot her from range in the last few seconds. Since 3 November 2026 you can shoot the mini-spiders too: 40 damage per arrow that lands, from up to 6 tiles.
- King Scorpia Mount: an arrow that hits a Giant Scorpion breaks your camouflage, just as a sword hit does; a missed arrow doesn't.
