The Pond is a calm fishing zone east of the Mainland. It has no PvP, keeps the full HUD enabled, and is one of the main places to train Fishing and Cooking. A shady dealer named Slick Vinny also operates here, offering name changes for those who want a fresh identity.

The area centers around water, roast pits, and the luxury apartment building known as The Residences.

Fishing and Cooking

The Pond is one of the first safe places where players can fish and cook. Its catch is Herring (stored as the classic Fish item), and every catch consumes 1 Feather Bait — see Fishing for the full species and bait system.

Training Fishing and Cooking back-to-back at the roast pits here is an efficient way to level both skills together. Cooking a fish also costs 1 Wood, and a cook can burn — the chance falls as your Cooking level rises.

Rare Drops

Fishing at The Pond has a chance of rare mount drops. A winning roll arrives instead of that cast's fish (the bait is still spent), and free accounts (holding under 1,000 $KINS) never receive mount drops.

Note: The Octopus Mount does not drop at The Pond — and it no longer drops from fishing at The Shores either; the Shores pool is now the Stingray Mount, Dolphin Mount, and Orca Mount.

• Use The Pond for safe Fishing and Cooking training — no PvP risk.
• Hand Feathers to the Old Fisher for Feather Bait one-for-one, or trade 10 Herring for 5 Trout Bait to move up the ladder.
• Cook Raw Chicken here with Wood to make Cooked Chicken, used to tame the Wolf Mount.
• The Shores is connected from here and has no level gate — but its species need higher Fishing levels and the Level 2 Fishing Rod, and free accounts cannot enter.
