Pickaxe is the gathering tool used for Mining. New characters receive a basic Pickaxe from the Quartermaster (tutorial NPC) on the Mainland alongside their starter Axe, Fishing Rod, and Hammer.
Use
- Equip the Pickaxe in a hotbar slot (keys 1–6).
- Use it on stone, coal, and metal nodes to gather Stone, Coal, and Metal.
- Stone, Coal, and Metal share the same gathering amounts for a given tool tier.
Acquisition
- Starter inventory from the Quartermaster on the Mainland.
- Can be upgraded to a Lvl 2 Pickaxe through Smithing at Frostmere, which doubles Mining yield and XP.
