Fishing Rod is the tool required to train the Fishing skill. There are now three rods — the free Starter Fishing Rod, the Level 2 Fishing Rod, and the Fire-Resistant Fishing Rod — each covering different waters. This page previously described the retired one-rod, one-fish system; the old generic Fish was renamed to Herring.

How to get

The basic rod is given free by the Old Fisher NPC located at The Pond — if you lose yours, return to the Old Fisher for a new one. The Level 2 rod (10 Gold) and Fire-Resistant rod (15 Gold) are sold by Dockhand Maren at The Shores.
