How to get Crafted by Kaziir the Armoursmith in The Dunes

Silver Boots is a high-tier armor piece that protects your feet and reduces the damage you take. It is the fourth and final piece in the Silver armor set and requires Combat 25 to equip.

All armor is crafted by Kaziir the Armoursmith in The Dunes through Smithing and uses ingots plus desert materials from Emberstone.

How to get

Craft at Kaziir the Armoursmith's house in The Dunes. Grimjaw's anvil in Frostmere and Harun the Forgewright's forge in Dunes West handle repairs only — Kaziir sells plate, he does not take it back.

Requirement Details
Smithing level 26
Combat to wear 25
Ingredients 40 Silver Ingot + 20 Molten Rock + 10 Brute Horn
Crafting time ~30 seconds (25-second cooldown between crafts)
Durability 2,500 uses

Stats

Stat Value
Damage reduction 1.5%
Durability per hit 1 point per hit taken
Repair cost 60% of the full forging cost (ingots, Molten Rock and Brute Horn), scaled by durability loss (minimum 1 of each material)

Damage Reduction

Silver Boots reduces the damage you take from mobs by 1.5% — the smallest reduction of the four Silver pieces. Armor no longer widens the shield pool; it reduces damage instead:

  • **Shield pool:** fixed at 100 points regardless of armor; restore it with Shield Potions
  • **Full Silver set:** 15% damage reduction (4 pieces)
  • **Full Iron set:** 10% damage reduction (4 pieces — comparison)

Wearing no armor at all is risky: King Scorpia, the Venomweaver cave hazards, Giant Scorpions and Magma Brutes all deal 1.5× damage to unarmored players. Wearing any armor piece removes that penalty and applies your damage reduction instead.

Armor Set

Silver Boots is one of four armor slots in the Silver tier:

Piece Smithing req Damage reduction Cost
Silver Helmet 24 3% 80 silver ingot + 60 molten rock + 15 brute horn
Silver Body Armor 30 6% 100 silver ingot + 80 molten rock + 25 brute horn
Silver Legguards 28 4.5% 75 silver ingot + 70 molten rock + 25 brute horn
Silver Boots 26 1.5% 40 silver ingot + 20 molten rock + 10 brute horn

Wearing multiple pieces adds their reductions. A full Silver set (all 4 pieces) gives 15% damage reduction total — 1.5× the protection of a full Iron set.

Durability & Repair

Silver Boots has 2,500 durability. Every hit you take (while wearing it) costs 1 durability point. A full Silver set (4 pieces) wears 4 times as fast in wall-clock terms since all pieces lose durability simultaneously.

Repair at Grimjaw in Frostmere or Harun the Forgewright in Dunes West:

  • **Repair cost:** 60% of the full forging bill (ingots, Molten Rock and Brute Horn), scaled to durability lost, each material rounded up (minimum 1 per repair)
  • **Example:** At 50% durability loss, repair costs about 12 silver ingots + 6 Molten Rock + 3 Brute Horns

Trading & Marketplace

Silver Boots can only be sold or traded when **undamaged** (100% durability):

  • Damaged pieces cannot be listed on the marketplace
  • Damaged pieces cannot be player-traded
  • Repair first at any blacksmith (Grimjaw or Harun), then it lists as new
  • Undamaged pieces are valuable and fully tradeable

Silver Boots is the cheapest piece to craft in the Silver set — a good starting point for completing end-game armor.

Armor Tiers

Silver is the highest armor tier. Comparison to Iron:

Tier Pieces Damage reduction (full set) Combat req Smithing req (feet)
Iron Head, body, legs, feet 10% 15 16
Silver Head, body, legs, feet 15% 25 26

Silver armor gives 1.5× the damage reduction but requires significantly higher progression — Mining 20 to gather Silver Ore, and Smithing 26 to craft boots.

Crafting Materials

Material Amount Source
Silver Ingot 40 Smelt 4 Silver Ore + 8 Coal per ingot at any furnace (requires Mining 20)
Molten Rock 20 Fish at Emberstone lava pits (common drop)
Brute Horn 10 Kill Magma Brute at Emberstone (1 in 5 drop rate)

Silver Boots is the cheapest Silver armor piece to craft by ingot count. It's often an early Silver piece for players, though the Helmet's lower Smithing gate comes first.

Progression Gate

To craft Silver Boots, you must reach Mining 20 to gather Silver Ore and Smithing 26:

Milestone Details
Mining 5 Unlock Iron Ore gathering
Mining 20 Unlock Silver Ore gathering (Frostmere and Dunes West)
Smithing 24 Craft Silver Helmet (first Silver piece)
Smithing 26 Craft Silver Boots

Silver armor represents true end-game progression — a serious multi-hour farming commitment.

Combat Considerations

Scenario Details
Damage reduction Reduces incoming mob damage by 1.5% (15% with the full Silver set)
Unarmored penalty With no armor worn at all, King Scorpia, Venomweaver cave hazards, Giant Scorpions and Magma Brutes deal 1.5× damage
Heat immunity Does NOT protect from The Dunes heat (bypasses shield)
Stun resistance Armor alone does not reduce stun duration
Durability drain Full set (4 pieces) drains durability 4× faster than individual pieces
PvP readiness Silver Boots is part of the complete end-game PvP loadout
Relics Qadim the Relicweaver can weave a Relic onto this piece, worn or carried
