How to get Dropped by wilderness / Emberstone / Dunes / boss mobs

A Scroll is a soulbound quest item that drops from combat. Each scroll is uniquely generated with its own story, title, and task list — no two are the same. Finish every task, then redeem it to Maelor the Scrollbinder on Mainland for Gold.

Warning: Scrolls are soulbound and burn to ash if you die while carrying them in the Wilderness (and other death-penalty zones). Bank or finish them before risky trips.

How scrolls work

  1. Get a scroll — rare mob drop (see types below).
  2. Soulbound — bound to you; cannot be traded, sold, banked, or minted.
  3. One at a time — you cannot pick up another scroll until the current one is completed and redeemed.
  4. Open and read — double-click the scroll to see its story, delivery contracts, and bonus tasks.
  5. Track progress — track the scroll to follow completion live while you play.
  6. Hand in deliveries — talk to the named NPC on each material task and present the goods.
  7. Redeem — when every task is done, bring the scroll to Maelor the Scrollbinder for Gold (and, as of the latest update, cosmetic rolls on both tiers).

Scroll types

Scroll type Drop source Drop rate Tasks Reward
Beginner Scroll Zombies, Dragons, Wolves (Wilderness / Wilderness Extension) 1 in 1,000 4 deliveries + 1–2 bonus 2–5 Gold
Medium Scroll Venomweaver (Glade Cave) 1 in 500 5 deliveries + 2–3 bonus 6–15 Gold + 4 independent cosmetic rolls (Wolf Mask, Frog Mask, Plunger, Flying Carpet)
Giant Scorpion (The Dunes West/East/South) 1 in 1,000
Magma Brutes (Emberstone) 1 in 1,500
King Scorpia (The Dunes South) 1 in 75
Hard Scroll King Scorpia (The Dunes South) 1 in 100 5 deliveries + 3 fixed combat tasks 30–50 Gold + 9 independent cosmetic rolls (Flaming Helmet, 4 canes, Mummy Mask, Mummy Top, Mummy Bottom, Robin Hood Hat)
Venomweaver (Glade Cave) 1 in 2,000
Update: Medium Scroll now drops from four sources instead of one, including King Scorpia (1 in 75) after the balance pass. Medium Scrolls used to pay 6–15 Gold and nothing else; they now also roll four cosmetic rewards on redemption — Wolf Mask, Frog Mask, Plunger, and the Flying Carpet mount (the first mount ever sourced from a scroll).
Update: Hard Scroll used to come only from King Scorpia. Venomweaver now also drops Hard Scrolls at 1 in 2,000 per participant, on top of its existing Medium Scroll roll — these are separate, independent rolls. Hard Scroll's cosmetic reward pool also expanded from 5 rolls to 9: the original Flaming Helmet and four canes, plus four new items (three Mummy pieces and the Robin Hood Hat).
Update: King Scorpia has relocated from The Dunes West to The Dunes South — both his Hard Scroll and new Medium Scroll drops now come from the South realm.
