The Deep is the far south-east pocket of the ocean at The Shores — deep water beyond the reach of any cast made from the sand or from Dockhand Maren's dock. The only way to fish it is to paddle out on a Wooden Raft and cast while afloat. It is the home of the Swordfish, the top tier of the fish ladder, and the only water in Kintara that dredges up bonus drops alongside the catch.

Requirement: A Wooden Raft (200 Gold from Dockhand Maren) is required — the game refuses a cast into The Deep unless you are floating on one. The raft drops where you leave it, so keep track of it.

Getting there

Buy a Wooden Raft from Dockhand Maren at The Shores, place it on the water, and paddle out east past the dock toward the far south-east corner of the ocean. The Deep is open water — there is no entrance or level gate, only the distance itself.

Fishing

The Deep is a fishing ground of its own, with 2 live fishing spots that move every few minutes like every other water.

Bonus drops

Casts into The Deep make extra rolls that no other water makes, on top of the fish itself:

Because The Deep is still Shores water, the beach-wide rolls apply out there too: the Stingray Mount and Dolphin Mount (1 in 10,000 each per cast) and the sunken gold purse (1 in 10,000 for 2–10 Gold).

Note: Free accounts — accounts that have not yet held 1,000 $KINS to unlock trading — never receive the mount, crate or map rolls. The Silver Ore dredge still applies.

Sunken dig sites

A Sunken Treasure Map fished up in The Deep marks a spot on the Shores sand with a red X that only you can see. Walk to the X and click it (or double-click the map in your bag) to dig up the cache:

Each map is one dig, and the map is spent when the cache comes up. You can hold up to 5 unspent maps at once — casts past the cap grant no new map until you dig one up. The map is bound to you and cannot be traded or listed: the X it marks is yours alone.
