The Shores is a calm seaside zone reached from the east side of The Pond. It has sand along the west edge, open ocean to the east, and follows the same safe rules as The Pond.
The Shores is mainly used for higher-level Fishing and is the source of the rare Turtle Mount fishing drop.
Requirement: Players need a minimum Total Level of 20 to enter The Shores.
Fishing
The Shores is one of Kintara's main fishing locations. Players can cast a Fishing Rod into the ocean to catch Fish and continue training Fishing.
Base Fishing XP: 125 XP per catch (131 XP with 5% Guild bonus)
| Action | Tool | Result | Drop chance | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ocean fishing | Every cast | Grants 125 Fishing XP per catch (131 with Guild bonus). | ||
| Rare mount roll | 1 in 5,000 per cast | Rare drop from ocean fishing. Base 25% speed, trainable to 55%. Also available on Marketplace. |

All mounts now use the **25% base, 55% cap** system. Train via Sorrel the Stablemaster (10 Gold per +5% session).

Tips
- The Shores gives the same base Fishing XP as The Pond — the main reason to fish here is the Turtle Mount rare drop chance (1 in 5,000).
- Stock up on Fish here to cook into Cooked Fish Meat for various recipes.
- Turtle Mount starts at 25% base speed and can be trained to 55% via Sorrel the Stablemaster (10 Gold per session).
- Turtle Mount can be gilded for a rare cosmetic variant — visit Sorrel the Stablemaster with 1–3 identical mounts.
- Emberstone is accessible north from here at Total Level 25 — the next zone up for high-level Fishing and Combat.
