Lvl 2 Pickaxe is an upgraded version of the Pickaxe, obtained through Smithing at Frostmere. It doubles both the gathering yield and Mining XP earned compared to the base Pickaxe, across Stone, Coal, and Metal.
Iron Pickaxe is the iron tier of the pickaxe ladder, forged through Smithing at Frostmere or at Harun's forge in Dunes West. It is the iron step of the copper → iron → silver tool progression, and was previously listed on this wiki as the Lvl 2 Pickaxe. Its benefit is a 10% faster swing than the base Pickaxe — yield and Mining XP are unchanged by tool tier.

Iron Pickaxe
Type Tool (iron tier)
Gathered at Smithed at Frostmere or Dunes West
Skill Mining
Used for Swings 10% faster than the base Pickaxe — same yield and XP

Iron Pickaxe is the iron tier of the pickaxe ladder, forged through Smithing at Frostmere or at Harun's forge in Dunes West. It is the iron step of the copper → iron → silver tool progression, and was previously listed on this wiki as the Lvl 2 Pickaxe. Its benefit is a 10% faster swing than the base Pickaxe — yield and Mining XP are unchanged by tool tier.

Use

 • Equip the Iron Pickaxe in a hotbar slot (keys 1–6), same as the base Pickaxe.
 • Use it on rock nodes to gather Stone, Coal, Iron Ore, or Silver Ore depending on the region.
 • Each swing yields 1 resource; Mining XP is granted when the node is depleted — the same as every pickaxe tier. Node size changes how many hits it takes to deplete, not the yield per hit.

Acquisition

 • Forged from scratch through Smithing — no base Pickaxe is consumed.

Crafting cost

Requires Smithing level 17.

Material Amount
Iron Ingots 60
Wood 1,600

Durability

The Iron Pickaxe has 4,000 total durability and spends 1 durability per swing, regardless of node size.
