Coal is a raw gathered material in Kintara. It is mined from dark-veined rocks on the Mainland, in The Mine, at The Pond, in Whisperwood and across the Wilderness realms — roughly one rock in four is dark-veined — and is used in every smelting recipe, to buy potions, and for Guild Life. (Emberstone's basalt spires are the exception: they only ever give Stone.)
