Vanguard Cape is a cosmetic appearance item for the cape slot — a royal-blue cape on a steel pauldron mantle, with a silver laurel "40" crest. Only ten will ever exist: one each for the first 10 players to reach Total Level 40, and every copy carries its own number, from Vanguard Cape #1 to Vanguard Cape #10. It changes how your character looks and does not grant combat or skilling bonuses.
How To Get
- Reach Total Level 40 while capes are still left. The first 10 players to get there each take the next number, in the order they arrive.
- There is nothing to claim: the cape and 100 Gold arrive on their own, with a rare-find reveal. If you're offline when your number comes up, it's waiting for you at your next login.
The six players who were already at Total Level 40 when the cape arrived on 26 October 2026 took #1–#6, numbered by total XP. The rest of the numbers go out in the order players reach Total Level 40, until all ten are taken. When another player earns one, everyone online sees a small pill naming them and the number — "earned Vanguard Cape #N · N of 10". It uses the same Show Other Players' Rare Finds switch in Settings as rare-find pills.
The Vanguard Cape isn't sold in any shop and has no other source; once all ten are out, no more are ever made.
Trading
Since 26 October 2026 every Vanguard Cape is its own numbered item, so the number goes with the cape to whoever owns it. Numbered capes can be traded and listed on the Marketplace like any tradeable cosmetic.
Wearing
The Vanguard Cape has its own cape slot, so it can be worn together with any back item: wings such as Angel Wings or Demon Wings, the Soul Scythe, the Witch's Broom or the Champion's Banner. It replaces a classic cape, since both hang in the same place — one cape at a time. Since 27 October 2026 it swings back from your shoulders as you walk, run or ride, and settles when you stop.
