Starter Fishing Rod (previously listed on this wiki as the Basic Fishing Rod) is the free starter rod given by the Old Fisher at The Pond. It's the only rod needed to begin Fishing, but it cannot fish The Shores or Emberstone lava — those require the Level 2 Fishing Rod and Fire-Resistant Fishing Rod respectively.
