Free to play is Kintara's access model. Anyone can create an account and play without holding $KINS, connecting an external wallet, or paying an entry fee. Free play continues until the account's Total Level reaches 10; from there, holding at least 1,000 $KINS carries progression on.

The model separates value-in from value-out: playing, earning, and buying are open from the start, while features that move value out of the game or between players unlock after the $KINS balance has been held for 24 hours.

The Total Level 10 wall

Free accounts play normally until Total Level 10 — the number shown on the dashboard. At the wall the account pauses in place: no further XP or actions until it holds at least 1,000 $KINS. In the game's words: "You've reached level 10, the end of free play. Hold 1,000 $KINS in your connected wallet to carry on — your character, your items and your progress are all waiting exactly as you left them."

Nothing is lost at the wall. Once the balance is held, progression resumes exactly where it stopped.

The free world

Free accounts can explore:

Within the free world, free accounts can fight mobs, gather resources, fish, cook, bank, complete quests, play Casino games, earn Gold, buy from the Marketplace and shops, and use the other in-game systems.

What free accounts do not get

Restricted Details
Paid biomes The Shores, The Dunes, Emberstone, and the Venomweaver cave (Glade Cave) are closed to free accounts.
Mount and pet drops Free accounts never receive mount or pet drops — boss drops, fishing rolls, wolf taming, the rare pet rolls from trees, rocks, and cacti, and scroll-redemption rolls all skip them.
Scroll drops Free accounts do not receive Beginner Scroll drops from mob kills.
King Scorpia loot Free accounts are not eligible for King Scorpia's drop table.

The mount and pet restriction applies to drops only — a free account can still buy a mount or pet from the shops or the Marketplace.

Unlocking with 1,000 $KINS

Holding at least 1,000 $KINS (checked on the connected wallet's balance) unlocks immediately:

Holding for 24 hours

Value-out features unlock after the account has held at least 1,000 $KINS for 24 hours:

Buying, earning, gathering, and playing are never behind the 24-hour hold.

Getting started

Accounts can be created with an email code or a social login — no wallet needed. The game provides an in-game Solana Wallet for adding SOL and converting it to $KINS later. See Update:Free Play for the full release notes and login details.
