Smithing is the skill for upgrading tools to Lvl 2 at the Frostmere blacksmith. It is the only skill that does NOT count toward your Total Level, so it is a bonus track rather than a core skill.

Training

Smithing is done at Grimjaw's forge in Frostmere (average level 20 to reach). Each forge has about a 58 to 60 second cooldown and gives 750 Smithing XP.

What you can forge

Upgrade your Axe, Pickaxe, and Sword to Lvl 2 using metal, wood, and coal:

• Lvl 2 Axe and Pickaxe: double gathering yield and XP
• Lvl 2 Sword: double Combat XP per kill

Note

Because Smithing does not count toward Total Level, you do not need it for the level-20 gates at Frostmere and The Shores. It is purely for better tools.
