Iron Sword is the iron tier of the sword ladder, forged through Smithing at Frostmere or at Harun's forge in Dunes West. It is the iron step of the copper → iron → silver weapon progression, and was previously listed on this wiki as the Lvl 2 Sword. It hits for 26 damage — against the starter Sword's 5, the Copper Sword's 23, and the Silver Sword's 30. No sword tier changes the Combat XP earned per kill.
Use
- Equip the Lvl 2 Sword in a hotbar slot (keys 1–6), same as the base Sword.
- Used for fighting mobs and other players in PvP zones such as the Wilderness, hitting far harder than the starter Sword.
Acquisition
- Forged from scratch through Smithing — no base Sword is consumed. Requires Smithing level 13 and costs 55 Iron Ingots + 1,300 Wood.
Durability
Forged swords have 4,000 total durability, spending 1 durability per hit. The starter Sword never wears — durability applies to forged tiers only.
