Gold is Kintara's main in-game soft currency. It is not a blockchain token. Players use Gold for shops, property, pets, cosmetics, casino bets, chest opening, and other in-game systems.

Following the death of the Traveling Merchant, Gold is now earned primarily by killing mobs and farming the Venomweaver, with drops rolled server-side and synced straight to your inventory. Property owners can also earn passive Gold through a Money Printer.

Merchant offline: The Traveling Merchant — the former main Gold source — has been found dead and his services are shut down. There are no more gold trades, campaign contributions, or new lottery entries. Lottery tickets bought before his death still pay out: visit his body to collect any outstanding winnings. See Traveling Merchant for details.

How To Earn Gold

Gold now drops directly from combat. All mob and boss gold rolls are server-authoritative, use secure RNG, and are synced straight to your inventory.

Gold from mobs

Regular mob kills can now drop Gold:

Mob Location Chance Gold
Magma Brute Emberstone 1 in 350 1–5 Gold
Zombies & Dragons Non-Emberstone zones 1 in 500 1 Gold
Wolves Wilderness 1 in 500 1 Gold

The Magma Brute's Gold roll is on top of its existing Brute Horn (1 in 5) and Magma Brute Pet drops — killing Brutes can now yield Gold, Brute Horn, and a pet chance from the same kill.

Gold from Venomweaver

The Venomweaver boss is the strongest single-kill Gold source in the game:

Source Chance to drop Gold Gold amount
Venomweaver boss kill 1 in 100 kills 1–25 Gold (random)

On the kills where Gold drops, the amount is rolled randomly between 1 and 25. Every Venomweaver kill also salvages Wood, Stone, and Coal regardless of the Gold roll.

Passive Gold from a Money Printer

Property owners can earn Gold passively by running a Money Printer inside their property:

  • Whenever a player loses Gold at the Casino, 30% of the lost Gold is split among every active Money Printer, weighted by property tier.
  • Tier weights: Bronze ×1 · Silver ×2 · Gold ×4 — a Mansion or Penthouse earns four times a Trailer or Flat.
  • The printer costs 1,000 Gold, activates once, and accumulates Gold while you are offline. Claim it at will.

See Money Printer for full mechanics and tier weights.
