The Guild system — ranks, bank, and roster management.

Guilds are community-driven player clans in Kintara that allow players to team up, coordinate efforts, and manage shared goals. Being a member of a guild provides active gameplay benefits, while requiring collective resource contributions to remain active.

Guild Perks: Members receive a passive +5% XP bonus on everything while actively remaining part of a functioning guild.

Founding a Guild

Cost Notes
100 Gold Reduced from 250 Gold in a recent balance pass.

Ranks

Guilds run on a four-tier ladder: Recruit → Sergeant → General → Owner.

Rank Access
Recruit New or unproven members. No guild bank access.
Sergeant Unlocks the guild bank — can deposit and withdraw.
General Runs the roster: can promote and demote members below their own rank. Only the Owner can promote someone to General.
Owner Full control — sets per-member bank permissions, a daily gold withdrawal cap, and can freeze the bank in an emergency. Ownership transfer leaves the previous Owner as a General.
Update: This replaces the old two-tier Leader/Manager structure. Existing members were migrated to Recruit on rollout, except anyone previously appointed Manager, who became a General automatically. Bank access is earned through promotion, not inherited — an Owner has to deliberately promote someone to Sergeant before they can touch the bank.

Ranks show in the Members panel, where Owners and Generals promote from.

Guild Bank

The guild has a shared bank: deposit items and gold for guildmates, split stacks when you only want to move part of one, and follow every move in the Guild Log.

Feature Detail
Access Earned — Recruits have none, Sergeant+ can deposit/withdraw
Owner controls Per-member permissions, daily gold withdrawal cap, emergency freeze
Guild Log Tracks every deposit and withdrawal — the guild can see who took what
Notifications Owners and Generals get a DM whenever the bank is used
Status: The Guild Bank is a new feature and is still switched off while it's tested. It's live in the UI but not yet functional for actual deposits/withdrawals — check in-game for current status.

What can go in the bank

Swords, armor, pickaxes, and axes can be deposited alongside gold and raw materials — not just resources.

  • Wear is preserved — a half-used pickaxe comes back exactly as worn as it went in.
  • Same-condition items stack together, the same rule as a personal bank.
  • Every deposit and withdrawal is logged in the Guild Log.
  • Mounts, pets, cosmetics, furniture, and scrolls stay in personal bags — these are explicitly excluded from the guild bank.

Features & Management

  • Member Scaling: Guilds can be upgraded to grow their roster size, expanding from a starting capacity of 5 members up to a maximum of 20 members.
  • Custom Tags: Guild leaders can set a unique, stylized guild tag (e.g., `[YN]`) to identify members in the Wilderness.

Guild Life (Upkeep)

To keep a guild active and maintain its passive bonuses, members must collectively contribute resources to fund its remaining Guild Life duration. If the Guild Life timer reaches zero, features or benefits may be temporarily suspended.

Burn Rate

The rate at which Guild Life drains scales dynamically with the size of the roster:

  • Mechanic: Bigger guilds drain faster.
  • For example, a guild with 11 members carries a x2.2 burn rate multiplier.

Resource Contributions

Any member can contribute resources directly from their inventory or bank account. The base resource exchange rate required to fund 1 day of guild life is:

Material Required Amount Source / Skill
Wood 1,000 Gathered via Woodcutting
Stone 750 Gathered via Mining
Coal 500 Mined from coal nodes
Cooked Fish 500 Created via Cooking
Verify: This row previously listed "Cooked Fish Meat," a generic item from the old pre-Fishing-overhaul system. Fishing now produces four distinct cooked fish (Herring, Trout, Bass, Tuna) instead of one generic item. It's unconfirmed whether Guild Life upkeep now accepts any cooked fish species or only Cooked Herring specifically (the direct renamed successor to the old item). Verify in-game before treating this row as final.

Players can utilize quick-deposit buttons to add +1 Day, +5 Days, or +10 Days worth of upkeep at a time, provided the guild bank or personal inventory has the total materials required.

User Interface

The Guild system menu is divided into four main functional panels:

  1. Guild Life: Monitors remaining upkeep time, member burn rates, and material contribution inputs.
  2. Guild Panel: Handles roster changes, rank promotions, and custom settings.
  3. Search: Allows players to look up open or recruiting clans.
  4. Leaderboard: Visualizes the top ranking guilds across the world.
