Repair restores worn tools and Armor to full durability. Repairs are done at the smiths' anvils — Grimjaw in Frostmere and Harun the Forgewright in Dunes West — through the same smithing window used for forging. Kaziir the Armoursmith crafts armor but does not repair it: he sells plate, he does not take it back.
What can be repaired
Everything that is forged and wears down can be repaired — as long as it still exists. An item whose durability reaches 0 breaks and is destroyed (along with any Relic on it), so it must be repaired before then:
- Forged tools: Copper, Iron, and Silver axes, swords, and pickaxes — 4,000 durability each, spending one point per use.
- Armor: all eight Iron and Silver pieces — 2,500 durability each, spending one point per hit taken while worn.
Items can be repaired from your carried inventory, your hotbar, or (for armor) while worn. An item at full durability cannot be repaired.
Cost
A repair charges 60% of the item's full forging bill — every material the forge takes, not just the metal — scaled to how much durability is missing:
- A full repair (an item on its last point of durability) costs 60% of the forging recipe.
- A partial repair costs proportionally less. A piece at half durability costs half of the full-repair bill.
- Each material rounds up, with a minimum of 1 per material — a scratch is never free.
A full repair is deliberately cheaper than forging a new item. The cost is paid in the same materials as forging: ingots and Wood for tools; ingots, Molten Rock, and Brute Horns for armor.
Examples
- An Iron Body Armor at 50% durability costs 15 Iron Ingots + 15 Molten Rock + 3 Brute Horns.
- An Iron Axe on its last point of durability costs 24 Iron Ingots + 600 Wood.
Full-repair costs
The bill for a full repair of an item worn down to its last point of durability (60% of its forging recipe, each material rounded up):
| Item | Forging bill | Full repair |
|---|---|---|
| Copper Axe | 20 Copper Ingot + 400 Wood | 12 Copper Ingot + 240 Wood |
| Copper Sword | 25 Copper Ingot + 600 Wood | 15 Copper Ingot + 360 Wood |
| Copper Pickaxe | 28 Copper Ingot + 850 Wood | 17 Copper Ingot + 510 Wood |
| Iron Axe | 40 Iron Ingot + 1,000 Wood | 24 Iron Ingot + 600 Wood |
| Iron Sword | 55 Iron Ingot + 1,300 Wood | 33 Iron Ingot + 780 Wood |
| Iron Pickaxe | 60 Iron Ingot + 1,600 Wood | 36 Iron Ingot + 960 Wood |
| Silver Axe | 80 Silver Ingot + 2,000 Wood | 48 Silver Ingot + 1,200 Wood |
| Silver Sword | 90 Silver Ingot + 2,500 Wood | 54 Silver Ingot + 1,500 Wood |
| Silver Pickaxe | 100 Silver Ingot + 3,000 Wood | 60 Silver Ingot + 1,800 Wood |
| Iron Helmet | 40 Iron Ingot + 40 Molten Rock + 5 Brute Horn | 24 Iron Ingot + 24 Molten Rock + 3 Brute Horn |
| Iron Boots | 25 Iron Ingot + 25 Molten Rock + 2 Brute Horn | 15 Iron Ingot + 15 Molten Rock + 2 Brute Horn |
| Iron Legguards | 50 Iron Ingot + 50 Molten Rock + 10 Brute Horn | 30 Iron Ingot + 30 Molten Rock + 6 Brute Horn |
| Iron Body Armor | 50 Iron Ingot + 50 Molten Rock + 10 Brute Horn | 30 Iron Ingot + 30 Molten Rock + 6 Brute Horn |
| Silver Helmet | 80 Silver Ingot + 60 Molten Rock + 15 Brute Horn | 48 Silver Ingot + 36 Molten Rock + 9 Brute Horn |
| Silver Boots | 40 Silver Ingot + 20 Molten Rock + 10 Brute Horn | 24 Silver Ingot + 12 Molten Rock + 6 Brute Horn |
| Silver Legguards | 75 Silver Ingot + 70 Molten Rock + 25 Brute Horn | 45 Silver Ingot + 42 Molten Rock + 15 Brute Horn |
| Silver Body Armor | 100 Silver Ingot + 80 Molten Rock + 25 Brute Horn | 60 Silver Ingot + 48 Molten Rock + 15 Brute Horn |
Repair costs are derived directly from the forging recipes, so if a recipe ever changes, the repair quote moves with it.
Why repair
- Only undamaged armor and forged tools can be listed on the Marketplace; a repaired piece can be listed again. (Player trades accept worn gear as it is.)
- Repairing keeps any Relic the item carries: only durability is restored, the item and its Relic are unchanged.
- A repair is always cheaper than forging the item again.
