Wooden Raft is a 1×1 raft with a little sail, sold by Dockhand Maren at The Shores for 200 Gold. Carrying one lets you walk onto the ocean — click the water and you step aboard, opening up The Deep, the pocket of water that no cast from the sand or the dock can reach.

It's an item, not a mount: Wooden Raft lives in your backpack. It can be traded, banked, and taken off your corpse — that's what makes 200 Gold a real price instead of a formality. It must be in your inventory (not your bank) to use it.

How it works

• Click open water at The Shores while carrying a raft to board it.
• Holding a rod and clicking a live fishing spot that is too far to cast to paddles you over instead of refusing the click — you are told "Too far to cast — paddling over."
• Boarding dismounts you, and you cannot mount while afloat.
• It's the only way to fish The Deep — the Swordfish water, and the only casts that can bring up an Orca Mount, a Waterlogged Crate, a Sunken Treasure Map or Silver Ore.
• If you lose the raft while afloat, you wash up on the sand rather than being stranded.
