Guilds are community-driven player clans in Kintara that allow players to team up, coordinate efforts, and manage shared goals. Being a member of a guild provides active gameplay benefits, while requiring collective resource contributions to remain active.
Founding a Guild
| Cost | Notes |
|---|---|
| 100 Gold | Reduced from 250 Gold in a recent balance pass. |
Guild names are 3–24 characters. New guilds start with 3 days of free Guild Life.
Ranks
Guilds run on a four-tier ladder: Recruit → Sergeant → General → Owner.
| Rank | Access |
|---|---|
| Recruit | New or unproven members. No guild bank access. |
| Sergeant | Unlocks the guild bank — can deposit and withdraw. |
| General | Runs the roster: can promote and demote members below their own rank. Only the Owner can promote someone to General. |
| Owner | Full control — sets per-member bank permissions, a daily gold withdrawal cap, and can freeze the bank in an emergency. Ownership transfer leaves the previous Owner as a General. |
Ranks show in the Members panel, where Owners and Generals promote from.
Leaving or being removed from a guild stops you joining any guild for 24 hours. The Owner has to transfer ownership before leaving.
Guild Bank
The guild has a shared bank: deposit items and gold for guildmates, split stacks when you only want to move part of one, and follow every move in the Guild Log.
| Feature | Detail |
|---|---|
| Access | Earned — Recruits have none, Sergeant+ can deposit/withdraw. Depositing also requires holding at least 1,000 $KINS for 24 hours. You must be at a bank to deposit, withdraw or unlock pages; the bank and its log can be viewed from anywhere. |
| Capacity | 48 slots per page, up to 6 pages. Extra pages are unlocked with the guild bank's own gold: 10, 20, 50, 75, then 100 Gold. Generals and the Owner unlock pages; while the bank is frozen, only the Owner can. |
| Owner controls | Per-member permissions, daily gold withdrawal cap, emergency freeze |
| Guild Log | Tracks every deposit and withdrawal — the guild can see who took what. Shows the last 200 movements. |
| Notifications | Owners and Generals get a DM whenever the bank is used. Sound/toast pings are off by default — see Notification Settings below. |
Notification Settings
Guild activity — roster changes and every guild bank deposit/withdrawal — no longer pings you by default.
| Setting | Default | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Guild Alerts (sound/counter pings) | ON | Settings → Options → Social |
| Guild sound notifications specifically | OFF (as of this update) | Settings → Options → Sounds → Guild |
Nothing is lost when notifications are off — messages still land in Friends → Notifications → Guild, so officers keep the full record; you just won't hear a ping for every roster change or bank transaction. Turning Guild Alerts off in Settings → Options → Social also stops guild messages from lighting up the Friends button and its counters, while still delivering everything to the Notifications tab.
What can go in the bank
Swords, armor, pickaxes, and axes can be deposited alongside gold and raw materials — not just resources.
- Wear is preserved — a half-used pickaxe comes back exactly as worn as it went in.
- Same-condition items stack together, the same rule as a personal bank.
- Every deposit and withdrawal is logged in the Guild Log.
- Mounts, pets, cosmetics, furniture, and scrolls stay in personal bags — these are explicitly excluded from the guild bank. The event Shovel is also excluded. The Sunken Treasure Map, property keys, building kits and any item carrying a Relic are refused too.
Features & Management
- Member Scaling: Guilds can be upgraded to grow their roster size, expanding from a starting capacity of 5 members up to a maximum of 20 members. Expansions are purchased in order: 5→10 for 25 Gold, 10→15 for 30 Gold, and 15→20 for 50 Gold.
- Custom Tags: Guild leaders can set a unique, stylized guild tag (e.g., `[YN]`) of up to 4 characters to identify members in the Wilderness.
- Renames & Tag Changes: Renaming the guild costs 50 Gold, changing the tag costs 50 Gold, and a tag animation style costs 100 Gold.
Guild Life (Upkeep)
To keep a guild active and maintain its passive bonuses, members must collectively contribute resources to fund its remaining Guild Life duration. If the Guild Life timer reaches zero, the guild enters a 12-hour "last chance" grace window — if Guild Life is still empty when the window ends, the guild is automatically disbanded. If the guild disbands, everything in the guild bank is lost. Members are messaged when Guild Life drops under 24 hours, under 6 hours, and when the last-chance window opens.
New guilds start with 3 days of Guild Life for free.
Burn Rate
The rate at which Guild Life drains scales dynamically with the size of the roster:
- Mechanic: Bigger guilds drain faster.
- Formula: the multiplier is members ÷ 5, never below ×1: up to 5 members ×1, 10 members ×2, 11 members ×2.2, 20 members ×4.
- A "day" of materials lasts 1 ÷ multiplier real days, about 11 hours for an 11-member guild.
Resource Contributions
Any member can contribute resources directly from their inventory or bank account. The base resource exchange rate required to fund 1 day of guild life is:
| Material | Required Amount | Source / Skill |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | Gathered via Woodcutting | |
| 750 | Gathered via Mining | |
| 500 | Mined from coal nodes | |
| 500 | Created via Cooking |
Each material contributes independently: one material's full daily amount adds a quarter-day of Guild Life on its own, and the full set of all four adds one day. The upkeep item is Cooked Fish Meat specifically, not the individual cooked fish species.
Players can use quick-deposit buttons to add +1 Day, +5 Days, or +10 Days of upkeep at a time, as long as their own backpack and personal bank hold the materials. Upkeep never comes out of the guild bank.
User Interface
The Guild system menu is divided into four main functional panels:
- Guild Life (shown as Create until you're in a guild): Monitors remaining upkeep time, member burn rates, and material contribution inputs.
- Guild Panel: Handles roster changes, rank promotions, and custom settings.
- Search: Allows players to look up open or recruiting clans.
- Leaderboard: the current Guild Season board, with standings, category boards and past seasons.
