Shacks are personal player-built wooden structures placed in Whisperwood. Each character is limited to one Shack at a time, and it functions as the player's permanent home in the forest region.
Building a Shack
To place a Shack you need:
- The Building skill — learned once from the Site Foreman, who also hands you a Hammer during that conversation (the hammer itself is not needed at build time)
- 500 Wood + 200 Stone
- A valid open tile in Whisperwood — shacks must keep a one-tile gap from other shacks and cannot be placed right up against the Whisperwood Pet Shop
A "Shack (Portable)" kit item also exists that builds a shack directly from the inventory, with no hammer at all.
The Shack is one of the first long-term goals for new players after the tutorial, providing a recognisable home base in a non-safe biome.
Moving a Shack
Use the /pickup chat command to relocate your existing Shack to a new tile without demolishing and rebuilding it. This preserves the structure and saves materials.
Limits
- One Shack per character.
- Must be placed in Whisperwood.
- Shacks have lockable doors: the owner can lock the shack behind a door password or leave it unlocked. Other players can enter an unlocked shack, and trading works inside one.
