Hammer is the construction tool used for Building. New characters receive a basic Hammer (shown in game as the Starter Hammer) free from the Site Foreman on the Mainland. The other starter tools come from their own NPCs — the Lumberjack gives the Axe, the Old Miner gives the Pickaxe, and the Old Fisher gives the Starter Fishing Rod.
Use
- Equip the Hammer in a hotbar slot (keys 1–6).
- With the Hammer equipped, open the Build menu to place a Shack (in Whisperwood only) or a Firepit. Flats, Apartments and houses are bought, not built.
Acquisition
- Free from the Site Foreman on the Mainland.
