Skills are the main progression systems in Kintara. Most activities give skill XP, and several areas require a minimum average skill level to enter.
Kintara has six skills. Five core skills count toward Total Level, while Smithing is a bonus skill and does not count toward Total Level.
Skill types

Total Level

| Core skills | Combat, Woodcutting, Mining, Fishing, and Cooking count toward Total Level. |
| Bonus skill | Smithing does not count toward Total Level. |
| Level cap | Each skill is capped at level 30. |
| Level gates | Frostmere and The Shores require minimum average skill level 20. |
