Sword
Type Weapon
Gathered at Given by the Quartermaster on the Mainland
Skill Combat
Used for Iron tier (Iron Sword) forged from scratch via Smithing

Sword is the starting melee weapon used for Combat. New characters receive a Sword directly from the Quartermaster on the Mainland as part of the new player tutorial. It is a training blade that hits for 5 damage — deliberately tiny, so forged tiers feel like real upgrades. If you lose it, the Quartermaster will issue another free of charge — there is no waiting period; he simply will not hand you a second one while you are still carrying the first.

Use

  • Equip the Sword in a hotbar slot (keys 1–6).
  • Used for fighting mobs and other players in PvP zones such as the Wilderness.

Acquisition

  • Given by the Quartermaster on the Mainland during the new player tutorial; he will replace a lost one free of charge, one at a time.
  • The Iron Sword (iron tier) is a separate craft via Smithing — forged from scratch for 55 Iron Ingots + 1,300 Wood at Smithing 13. It hits for 26 against this sword's 5; Combat XP per kill is unchanged by your weapon.

Damage ladder

Sword Damage per hit
Starter Sword 5

Iron Sword (Lvl 2) 26
