Controls
Controls covers how to move, look around and use the keyboard in Kintara. Every key below can be changed in Settings → Key Bindings unless it says otherwise.
- Mouse side buttons: since 3 November 2026 you can bind Mouse 4 and Mouse 5 (the back and forward buttons on the side of many mice) to any action, just like a key. In Settings → Key Bindings, pick the action and press the side button. A bound side button no longer sends your browser back or forward; an unbound one works as normal.
- Holding a key counts as one press. Holding a hotbar or menu key no longer repeats it over and over. The one exception is rotating: hold R while placing a shack or furniture and it keeps turning.
Movement
Click the ground to walk there. Click a tree, rock, fishing spot, NPC or monster to interact with it — the action depends on the item selected on your hotbar.
On a phone or tablet, two round buttons sit in the bottom corners: the pet button on the left and the mount button on the right. Tap one to bring out or put away your pet, or to get on or off your mount (the same as H and Q on a keyboard). Hold a button to open your pet bag or mount bag. On a phone in the Venomweaver cave, the mount button stays on the bars under the Exit Cave button, which sits a button-height higher while the mount button shows.
Camera
- Zoom — scroll the mouse wheel, or pinch with two fingers on a phone or tablet.
- Move the view — hold the left mouse button and drag. Settings → Key Bindings → Camera Pan switches this to the right mouse button.
- Center Camera — press Y (or use the switch in Settings → Options → Graphics) to keep your character in the middle of the screen while you walk. With it off, the view stays where you leave it.
- Third-person camera (Kintara Club members) — press V (or use the switch in Settings → Options → Graphics) to view the world from behind your character instead of from above. Drag to look around and scroll to move the camera closer or further. Press V again to return to the overhead view. V cannot be rebound yet.
- Photo mode (Kintara Club members) — press P (or type
/photo) to hide the screen and fly the camera freely: WASD to move, R and F for up and down, Shift to go faster, drag to look and scroll to zoom. Save picture keeps the shot; P or Esc takes you back. P cannot be rebound yet.

Items
Right-click an item (long-press on a phone or tablet) for Move to hotbar and Destroy, so you don't have to drag. Holding a stack on a phone opens the Take amount sheet, with Move to hotbar and Destroy buttons of its own; on a computer, Take amount puts the cursor in the number box, so type the amount and press Enter. Every Destroy asks you to confirm and shows the exact amount first.
Settings
A few options in Settings change what you see, hear and feel:
- Hide Other Players (Settings → Other) — hides other players completely in safe areas like town and the islands. In the Venomweaver cave it hides only their names and guild tags, and it never hides anyone in other PvP areas. It is saved in your browser, so if you can't see anyone, check it's off.
- Hide Other Players' Effects (Settings → Other) — hides other players' auras, glows, lights and particles. You still see the players and their outfits, and your own effects stay.
- In the Venomweaver cave both have quick buttons, 👥 Hide names and ✨ Hide effects (under the minimap on a computer). Tap the – on a button to shrink it to its icon, and tap the icon to bring it back.
- Master volume (Settings → Sounds) — turns every game sound up or down, from 0 to 200%. With Music or Master at 0 the game's music stops completely, so music from another app keeps playing on your phone.
- Fishing Alerts (Settings → Sounds) — a warning sound when a shark starts circling you at sea, and a ping when the fish leave the spot you're casting into.
- Vibration (Settings → Sounds) — on Android phones, a short buzz when a fish bites, a fishing spot moves, a shark comes for you and when you take a hit. iPhones don't let websites vibrate.
- Landscape on iPhone or iPad — iOS controls rotation. Swipe down from the top-right to open Control Centre and turn off Portrait Orientation Lock (the padlock icon), then rotate your phone. If you play from a Home Screen shortcut, the same setting applies.
- One Tap Uses Food & Potions (Settings → Mobile) — off by default; when on, a single tap on a hotbar slot holding food or a drinkable potion uses it straight away.
Chat commands
Type these in chat. Settings → Commands lists them too, along with the chat effects.
