Threads
Threads are a crafting material made by unravelling cosmetics that can no longer be obtained. Nour the Threadkeeper, in Zahir's camp in The Dunes West, does the unravelling.
Unravelling
Bring Nour a cosmetic that can no longer be obtained — a retired event, chest or season item, or a partner item — and she unravels it into Threads. What an item pays depends only on how many copies of it exist:
| Copies in the game | Threads per copy |
|---|---|
| 14 or fewer | 30 |
| 15–24 | 20 |
| 25–49 | 12 |
| 50–99 | 6 |
| 100–299 | 3 |
| 300–1,000 | 1 |
| Over 1,000 | 1 Thread per 2, 3 or more copies |
- Payouts rise as an item gets rarer.
- An item is never unravelled once 10 or fewer copies are left, and you can never unravel the last copy of a reward you earned.
- You can unravel up to 25 copies a day.
- Since 30 October 2026 the Captain's Hat, Gold Laser Eyes and the Black and White I <3 KINS shirts can be unravelled too.
Using Threads
Threads are a real item: they stack, and they can be traded and listed on the Marketplace (under materials).
You spend them at Nour's Threads Shop, open since 3 November 2026. Every price there is Threads plus some Gold:
- tool skins — 20 Threads + 25 Gold, or 45 Threads + 300 Gold for a Gilded skin;
- the November 2026 Amberfall Axe — 40 Threads + 100 Gold, one per account;
- arrow trails and raft skins — 18 Threads + 25 Gold (Gilded rafts 45 Threads + 300 Gold);
- fishing floats — 9 Threads + 15 Gold;
- woven decor — from 6 Threads + 5 Gold.
