How to get Fishing at The Shores, north of the buoys (Fishing level 20, Tuna Bait)

Tuna is the fourth and highest tier of Kintara's four fish, caught at The Shores north of the buoy line. Cooking it converts it to Cooked Tuna, which heals 20 HP — or, on a failed cook, to Burnt Tuna, which is junk.

Catching

Requirement Value
Location The Shores (north of the buoys)
Fishing level 20
Bait Tuna Bait
Rod Level 2 Fishing Rod — required to fish The Shores at all
Catch XP 140

The buoy line running west-east across the ocean is a marker, not a depth change — Tuna and Bass share the same water, split by which side of the line you're fishing. Casts only reach 5 tiles, so the far Tuna water is out of reach from the sand alone — you need Dockhand Maren's dock or a Wooden Raft to reach it. The Shores has 3 live spots for Tuna.

Cooking

Result Effect Cooking XP
Cooked Tuna Heals 20 HP 140
Burnt Tuna No heal, no XP, junk item 0

Cooking any fish is a roll against your Cooking level — the burn chance starts at 30% (level 5 and below) and slides down toward, but never reaches, 0% (5% at level 40). The Roast Pit shows your exact current burn chance.

Uses

  • 250 Cooked Tuna is required for the Angler Outfit raffle at The Angler. Tuna has no further bait tier to trade up to — it's the top of the ladder.
