Woodcutting is the skill for gathering Wood by chopping trees in the Wilderness. Wood is a key Traveling Merchant ingredient, making Woodcutting one of the main ways to earn Gold.

Training

Equip an Axe and chop trees anywhere in the Wilderness. There are no tree types or level requirements; the only upgrade is your axe.

Upgrading your axe

The Lvl 2 Axe is smithed by Grimjaw at Frostmere and needs average level 20 to reach. It doubles both yield and XP, so prioritise it once you can.
