Rooms are rentable social spaces in Kintara. Players can create rooms, give them names and a category, protect them with passwords, decorate them with furniture, and open them to players across every server.
Rooms are listed through the Navigator. The room list is shared across the entire fleet, so entering a room functions as a single hop regardless of which server hosts it.
Room Types
Players can choose a room's size, layout, floor, backdrop, and name when creating it.
| Room size | Dimensions | Player capacity | Room Life cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small | 8×10 tiles | 10 players | |
| Medium | 14×16 tiles | 25 players | |
| Large | 24×26 tiles | 50 players |
Each size is available in three layouts: Open Hall, Lounge, and Colonnade.
Rooms use Room Life, a weekly payment system. A player can hold up to three rooms at the same time.
Kintara Club members pay 20% less Room Life (8, 20 or 40 Gold a week). Owning any property — including a built Shack — gives 25% more Room Life for the same Gold payment. The two benefits stack.
Creating a Room
- Open the Navigator.
- Select the Rooms tab.
- Select Create.
- Choose the room size, layout, floor, and backdrop.
- Give the room a name (3–24 characters).
- Pick one category from the fixed list — Games & Mazes, Hangouts, Role Playing, Guilds, Trading, Parties & Events, or Other — to help other players find it.
- Choose whether the room is public or password-protected (passwords are 6–32 characters).
- Confirm the room.
Public rooms can be discovered and entered by other players through the Navigator. Password-protected rooms require visitors to enter the correct password.
Room Discovery
The Navigator provides a live, fleet-wide directory of rooms.
Players can:
- Browse rooms across every server.
- Search rooms by name or category.
- Sort rooms by activity and player population.
- Enter a room directly from the room listing.
- Find rooms hosting events.
- Visit public player spaces without knowing which server they are on.
The room list is shared across the fleet. Entering a room does not require manually changing servers.
The Navigator can be opened from anywhere in the game, but it is browse-only while the player is in a wilderness realm — the wilds, caves, Emberstone and the Dunes — even from a safe spot.
Public and Private Rooms
Room owners can choose whether a room is open to everyone or protected by a password.
| Access type | Description |
|---|---|
| Public | Anyone can find and enter the room through the Navigator. |
| Password-protected | The room is locked behind a password supplied by the owner. |
Owners can change a room's access settings after creating it.
Room Management
Room owners can give individual players additional rights.
Trusted players can be granted permission to:
- Place furniture.
- Move and rotate furniture.
- Pick up furniture.
- Kick players from the room.
Rent payments, room settings, cosmetics, and the trusted-player list itself always remain owner-only — trusted players cannot change them.
Permissions can be assigned by clicking a player or entering the player's name.
Room owners can also control whether player trading is enabled in the room. With trading switched off, guests cannot start trades with each other — but the owner can still open a trade with anyone in the room.
If a room's Room Life goes unpaid, the room keeps its furniture and configuration for a 48-hour grace window. After that it closes for good and its furniture is returned to the owner's bag.
Room Commands
The following commands are owner-only — the owner must be standing inside the room to use them. Trusted players with room rights cannot run them. They also work in owned properties and Shacks:
| Command | Function |
|---|---|
/kickall
|
Kicks all players from the room. |
/pickall
|
Picks up all furniture in the room. |
Furniture
Rooms support generous furniture limits: a rented Navigator room holds up to 1,000 placed pieces, while an owned property holds up to 80 per room (a mansion's two floors, and each room of an apartment or penthouse, count separately).
Players can use the Catalogue button inside their own room to buy furniture from the permanent catalogue without leaving the room (the featured Limited Rare piece is only sold at the Furni Shop). Purchased furniture is stored in the player's Furni bag.
Furniture can be:
- Placed
- Moved
- Rotated
- Picked up
- Sold or traded to other players on the Marketplace (except soulbound trophies)
Furniture placement is server-authoritative, so the layout shown to one player is also visible to other players.
Non-seating furniture — tables, dividers, plants, and most devices — is solid, and players walk around it. Seating pieces such as couches, chairs, stools, pods, beds, and the bathtub do not block walking: click one to sit on it. The World Cup Football is walkable too — stepping into it kicks it to a new tile.
See Furniture and Furni Shop for the available furniture catalogue.
Room Events
Room owners can advertise an event at their room and host players there.
Event rooms can appear on the Events board and in the Navigator, allowing other players to discover and join the event.
Rooms may be used for:
- Community gatherings
- Player-hosted events
- Social hangouts
- Furniture showcases
- Trading-disabled social spaces
- Other player-created activities
Player-Owned Properties
Player-owned properties are also visible through the Navigator.
An owned property appears in the Rooms tab with a light-on indicator while the owner is inside it. Other players can select Enter to visit.
Owned properties can also appear under the Navigator's Mine tab and can be placed on the Events board.
Property Cosmetics
Owners can unlock floors and backgrounds with Gold and apply them to their rented rooms and the properties they own. An unlock is permanent and belongs to the account, so it can be reused in every room.
- Floors — Kintara Boards (free), Dark Oak (50), Quarry Stone (60), Dune Sandstone (60), Tavern Tile (80), Noir Checker (80), Royal Carpet (90), Glacier Ice (90), Molten Obsidian (100).
- Backgrounds — Plain Walls (free), Open Sky (50), Starfall (70), Eldergrove (80), and four animated backgrounds: Golden Sunset (300), Starry Night (400), Aurora Veil (450) and Cosmic Nebula (500).
Property cosmetics change the appearance of the property while leaving its underlying ownership and room access rules unchanged.
Room Life
Room Life is paid weekly in Gold.
| Rule | Effect |
|---|---|
| Small room | Costs 10 Gold per week and holds up to 10 players. |
| Medium room | Costs 25 Gold per week and holds up to 25 players. |
| Large room | Costs 50 Gold per week and holds up to 50 players. |
| Kintara Club | Members pay 20% less Room Life (8, 20 or 40 Gold a week). |
| Property ownership | Owning any property, including a Shack, gives 25% more Room Life for the same Gold payment. |
| Room limit | A player can hold up to three rooms. |
| Grace window | An unpaid room keeps its furniture and configuration for 48 hours; after that it closes and the furniture goes back to the owner's bag. |
