The Wilderness is the main danger zone of Kintara, reached by heading north from the Mainland. It is a night-time PvP area where other players can attack you and hostile mobs roam, but it is also where almost all gathering and combat training happens, so you will spend a lot of time here.

What's here

The Wilderness is the only place with trees to chop and rock nodes to mine, so it is where you train Woodcutting and Mining and stock up on Wood, Stone, and Coal. It is also the main Combat training ground, full of Wild Zombies and the tougher Wild Dragons.

Dangers

This is open PvP, so other players can attack you here. Hostile mobs aggro within 3 tiles, and a failed combat QTE or a PvP hit costs you 20 HP. There is a fenced safe camp on the south edge where PvP is off and no mobs spawn, useful for catching your breath.

Tips

  • Bank your materials on the Mainland before long trips so a death does not wipe your haul.
  • Zombies cluster in the south, dragons in the north. Stay south for safer grinding.
  • Heal at the Mainland Fountain before heading in.

Connections

South returns to the Mainland. North leads to the Wilderness Extension, and the east connects to the Expanded Wilderness where wolves live.
